podwatch | Pod Legal

We use cutting edge technology to monitor Australian trade mark applications, registered and unregistered trade marks and domain names. This means that we can alert you to any activity that may infringe upon your intellectual property rights, immediately after it occurs.

podwatch is specifically designed to empower brands to monitor competitors (and other third parties) and take immediate action to ensure that trade marks are not damaged or diluted in any way.

All podwatch packages include a consultation with a Registered Trade Marks Attorney to determine the best possible strategy for you to monitor and protect your trade marks. Our podwatch packages include the following powerful components:

Monitor trade mark applications

We have the technology to notify you when a third party files a trade mark application that may infringe upon your trade mark rights. We can also notify you if a conflicting trade mark progresses at all during the trade mark registration process. This means that you can take action (for example, lodge an objection) to minimise risk or damage to your business.

Monitor competitors

We will notify you when a competitor, or a competitor’s attorney, files a trade mark application for any trade mark of interest. This is useful for monitoring activities of your competitors, such as a pending launch of new products or services or intention to use a particular brand in connection to its business.

Obtain powerful insights to activities of your competitors and quickly take whatever action may be required.

Receive alerts on set key words

We will notify you immediately if a trade mark application that contains your nominated key words is filed. This early warning system gives you advanced notice against possible trade mark infringement.

Watch domains

We will notify you when someone registers a domain name that contains your nominated key word, phrase or trade mark.

This is very useful if a cyber-squatter registers your business name as a domain name or if a person launches a hate website or a phishing website impersonating you or your business. We notify you immediately so steps can be taken to manage that damage that may be caused to you, your business or your brand.

Simply nominate the key words to monitor and we will take care of the rest.

Manage domains

Our domain management tool allows us to keep track of all of your domain names from one central location.

This service works with your existing registrars so you are not required to transfer any of your domain names. Simply let us know which domain names that you wish to have managed and we will take care of the rest.

Keep track of your valuable domain names and never lose them again due to not renewing them.

So true, Scott. Allowing valuable intellectual property to leak out the back door of a business can come at a huge cost. Monitoring and managing trade marks and domain names is essential and is inexpensive.
