Doing Business Online, Without Breaking the Law

Most businesses now do business online, whether it be via a website or social media pages. However, the content it displays may be exposing your business to legal risk.

For example, you may be taking on legal risk if:

  • your website displays content that it did not produce
  • your website displays trade marks owned by others
  • you run competitions without the required permits or terms and conditions
  • your website does not display important legal notices

There’s a range of laws that come into play when doing business online. For example, laws relating to defamation, copyright, trade marks, advertising, marketing and privacy. Consequences for breaches of these laws may include brand damage, negative business reputation, financial penalties and, in some cases, the permanent loss of social media pages. Our interactive training will provide important knowledge for key people to identify potential risk areas and how that risk may be managed.

Training may be held on-site at your organisation and is tailored to suit your specific industry and needs. The duration of training is anywhere from three hours, up to a full day, depending on your requirements.

We’re ready to discuss how we can contribute to the overall experience of your next training event.
